You start from a home-based business however once you apply for insurance coverage and licensure, an office is required. Since all assessments are carried out in either hospitals or clients’ homes, office space is not necessary. In fact, a home-based business with no overhead can work well for a Guava® franchise during initial months of operation.

Once your client base expands, a small office space where you can interview prospective staff would work well.

Yes, your protected area will be designated as an exclusive geographic area using standard state, county, municipal or postal area definitions. No other Guava franchise or company-owned location will overlap with this defined territory. The typical protected area will consist of 250,000 prospective clients. Early-entrance franchisees will have the opportunity to secure larger territories.

At Guava we have an intimate appreciation of the importance of communication among tightly knit circles of families and friends. Proprietary to Guava, we have developed the private online Guava Care Portal which uniquely enables friends and family to keep in touch with their loved ones and their caregiver. The portal includes the following features: online messaging, message board posting, shared calendars for broadcasting doctor’s appointments and lab reports, and video chat capabilities to name a few. In the interest of maintaining the highest level of privacy, the site is HIPPA compliant and password-protected, so only approved family members can join their loved one's community. Yes, once you sign the franchise agreement you will complete a 3-day orientation. This training will introduce you to all vendors and assist you in completing a number of tasks fundamental to the launch of your business including your insurance registration, website creation, phone and email set-up, accounting system set-up and much more! You will also be given an online training. You will then be invited to our offices for a 5-day hands-on training to get you up-to-speed on the Guava system so you can go back to our office and hit the ground running. Upon leaving our offices you will be assigned a mentor and get signed up for the weekly leadership calls to continue the lifelong learning of our Guava system.

During the 5-day training mentioned above we focus two days on marketing, generating leads and building a client base. We have partnered with one of the Top Marketing and Advertising firms in the country - the Star Group - to equip us with cutting-edge strategies in generating demand for Guava services locally and nationally. We also have transportation and staffing contracts that enable you to begin generating revenues immediately to support your business in other key areas. We guide you through the process one step at a time in building your business, securing clients and sustaining a large diverse client base.
